Living in the Light of the Coming Son

In the Old Testament (Daniel 7: 9-10, 13-14) "As I looked, thrones were set in place, and the Ancient of Days took his seat. His clothing was as white as snow; the hair of his head was white like wool. His throne was flaming with fire, and its wheels were all ablaze. 10 A river of fire was flowing, coming out from before him. Thousands upon thousands attended him; ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him. The court was seated, and the books were opened. 13 "In my vision at night I looked, and there before me was one like a son of man, coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient of Days and was led into his presence. 14 He was given authority, glory and sovereign power; all peoples, nations and men of every language worshiped him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and his kingdom is one that will never be destroyed. ********************** In the New Testament (I Thessalonians 4: 16-17) For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.

Foreglow is the expression of one who seeks to emulate Christ, to practice his presence and, to imitate him in every way. It prays that our "attitude be the same as that of Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death - even death on a cross!" ~ Philippiams 2:5-11 Foreglow exhorts believers to have the same downward mobility exhibited by Jesus when he descended to earth in order to lift men to heaven.

Acts 2: 42-47 “And the believers, both those who were HIV+ and those who were not, devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, to deep fellowship with one another, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles as they united in battle against the dreaded disease in their community. All the believers, infected or not, were together and had everything in common. Selling their possessions and goods, those who were healthy and financially stable gave generously—even sacrificially—to those who were not, making sure that the widows, orphans, and sick in their midst were well cared for. Everyday, those who were strong enough met in the temple courts, and then they gathered in the homes of those who were too sick to leave, sharing a meal together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God, and enjoying the favor of all the people who were amazed by the grace that was stronger than the stigma of AIDS.
